COVID-19 GUIDELINES UPDATE

Throughout the month of February, many provincial governments have started changing their COVID-19 mandates and guidelines.

For example, COVID-19 restrictions in Ontario surrounding public capacity limits changed last Thursday. Many locations now do not have capacity limits; it is just required that 2-meter social distancing can be achieved between patrons indoors.

On March 1st, more changes for Ontario will be in effect. All public indoor capacity limits will be lifted, and the province is leaving it up to individual businesses whether they want to ask for proof of vaccination. Face masks and screening of patrons will still be in place. The province has also allowed public health units to make decisions on how to respond to local health indicators.

With COVID-19 restrictions going through many quick changes, we recommend checking in on your provincial government’s decisions regularly.

CHANGES IN TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

COVID-19 restrictions have been changing across the country over the past month. Although Canada has revised its own travel requirements, other counties may still ask that you meet specific requirements to enter their country.

Many Canadians enjoy escaping the winter weather and taking a hot and sunny vacation. To have a smooth travel experience, know what is required of you before you go! For example, to travel to Mexico right now, it is recommended that you:

Bullet PointResearch how to get your proof of vaccination ready for travel. You may need a specific travel document in the language of the country that you are visiting.

Bullet PointKeep up to date with the news in case airlines cancel your flight or exit and entry restrictions between countries change.

Bullet PointPCR tests results are not currently required to enter Mexico. There is also no required quarantine period. There is healthcare screening at the airport and at many resorts so be prepared to answer questions honestly and take measures asked of you based on your answers.

Bullet PointTo prevent the spread of COVID-19 on your trip, make sure to take a test at least 2 weeks before your departure date to allow time to quarantine in case you test positive. Testing again right before you leave is also a good precaution to take.

For Rapid Antigen tests, PCR tests, or Serology tests book an appointment with MD Connected! We offer COVID-19 testing in partnership with JC Health at select locations across Ontario for asymptomatic patients.
