Is your vision triggering your headaches?
Your eye health has much more to do with the rest of your physical health than you think. For example, vision problems can be a cause of headaches — or worse, migraines. Ocular migraines, in particular, start with a visual disturbance followed by a throbbing headache. These disturbances may not occur for everyone, but if you are driving and seeing zigzags, flickering lights, or enlarging blind spots, you should pull over until the visual disturbance goes away.
How MD Connected Provides Convenient Healthcare to Canadians
Our drive as a society has caused such rapid growth in technology that the world is becoming more connected and accessible, with many industries changing the way they operate to reflect this. MD Connected saw that there was room for technological growth in the healthcare system. This was identified after learning of countless Canadians who had trouble accessing medical services for various reasons such as medical facilities being too far from their home, difficulty leaving their home due to chronic illness, a lack of specialists in communities or spending countless hours in a waiting room to see a practitioner.
Your March Break Travel Checklist
Every March, elementary and high school children and their teachers are given a break to rest and prepare for the rest of the term. Many families take advantage of this time off to go on vacation. Whether you are travelling internationally or staying within Canada, there are things that you should consider in advance. MD Connected has prepared a convenient travel checklist that will help to create a smooth start to your trip.
NEED A FAMILY DOCTOR?
We know finding a family doctor is not easy for many Canadians. As a matter of fact, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development ranks Canada 23rd out of 32 countries in doctor-to-patient ratio. With only 2.32 doctors per 1000 patients in Ontario, it is estimated that 1.8 million Ontarians don’t currently have a family doctor. This has been a growing problem for decades but has become a more pressing issue as the population ages and the healthcare system is pushed to its limits. This is why effective February 1st, 2023, MD Connected is launching our new Family Health Practice to better serve you and our communities.
OHIP COVERED DOCTOR’S APPOINTMENT
OHIP, or the Ontario Health Insurance Plan, is the province’s healthcare plan. Through OHIP, the province pays for many of the health services that Ontarians need. To qualify for OHIP coverage, you need to apply. Once approved, you’ll receive an Ontario health card.
